Mug Care

Thank you for purchasing one of our mugs. We are a small company in rural New Jersey with over 40 years of experience in bringing beautiful, high-quality reproductions to the Museum Stores we partner with.

The mugs you purchased were designed, printed, and assembled in the USA using the highest-quality ceramic mug we could find that is affordable and made to withstand many years of use and washing.

How It’s Made: The Magic of Sublimation. Unlike traditional printed mugs, where the design sits on top of the ceramic (and eventually peels or cracks), your mug was created using a high-heat molecular bonding process. We use specialized inks that, when heated to over 400°F, turn into a gas and infuse themselves directly into the poly-coating of the mug. The result? A smooth, permanent finish that is part of the mug itself. It won’t peel, it won’t crack, and it’s built to stay vibrant for countless morning coffees.

Why Hand Washing Matters

Even though the bond is permanent, the high-heat drying cycles and harsh salts in many dishwashers can act like sandpaper on the protective coating over time. Treat your mug like a favorite sweater—hand wash for a long, bright life!

Care for Your New Favorite Mug
To keep your design looking vibrant for years to come, please follow these simple steps:

Hand Wash Recommended: While many sublimation mugs are technically dishwasher-safe, hand washing with a soft sponge is the best way to prevent fading over time.

Avoid Abrasives: Do not use steel wool or scouring pads, as these can scratch the image coating.

Microwave Use: This mug is microwave-safe, but avoid extreme "extended" heating cycles.

Sunlight Warning: Try not to leave your mug in direct sunlight for long periods (like on a windowsill), as UV rays can eventually fade sublimation inks.
